95West’s Mankato office recently hosted 28 students and faculty from South Central College’s Building and Design programs for a hands-on learning experience. Students from the Architectural Drafting & Design, Geographic Information Systems, and Civil Engineering Technology programs explored how 95West serves clients throughout the Greater Mankato area, Southern Minnesota, and the Midwest.
The highlight for the students was seeing a local project while wearing 3D glasses. The three-dimensional photogrammetry maps from the Rapidan Dam were designed to be viewed with red-cyan 3D glasses and are called Anaglyph maps. Later, the students learned how the aerial mapping team works with land surveyors to make and targets for ground truthing.
